Find out at Club-Doggie! Most working breeds have instinct and it's a wonderful experience to see this deeply bred skill reveal itself. Herding instinct can be subtle in some dogs, and will need to be developed. In other dogs, herding instinct is so intense, you find your dog herding virtually everything that moves! In either case, allowing the dog to use this instinct is a great experience. So often at Club-Doggie we see huge behavioral changes when a high energy work breed is allowed to work - it’s amazing. If you are unsure if your dog has “instinct”, Club-Doggie can instinct test your dog. For $15, Kama Rueschenberg will take your dog in with the stock and evaluate their behavior. Private Lessons – When first starting out, it is essential to have to be in a controlled environment and to use positive training methods for the safety of all involved: you, your dog and the livestock. It also important to use the right kind of stock. Kama can help get your dog started on the right track. Herding Lessons cost $35 for two 20 minute runs and a break. With trainer permission, you may split the lesson with two dogs (one run each dog), or choose to book two overlapping lessons (Kama will switch out sheep, but your dogs will run back to back)! |
